Middlers Class is for those intermediate sailors who have 3 or 4 years of experience,  Sailors will expand on their knowledge of the Opti, N10, and RS Feva dinghy handling techniques and will begin racing and close quarter drills.  Stronger sailing experience is required.  The student is expected to be able to rig and sail an Opti, N10, or RS Feva without an instructor in the boat and control the boat in medium wind with confidence.  They must be able to name all the parts of the boat and have a good understanding of the function of each part.  Competitive terminology is emphasized.  Spinnakers are introduced.  Many sailors at this level gain skills and confidence by attending regattas  or crewing for more advanced sailors..
